Gamera, New and Improved?

January 21, 2000

We have taken Daiei's challenge to build the better Gamera!   Our latest designs show a return to the basic "mutant turtle" design while keeping an eye towards the mechincal rather than organic, our stance being that organics will be too weak for tomorrow's monster plus the added delay of growing the organic material and the chances of having the mutative effect being too drastic for our purposes.  With sentai in mind, the future Zbu representation of Gamera (tentatively called X Gamera) will be more in the vein of "Zyuranger" rather than Daiei's original.   Latest estimates show that X Gamera will require three pilots:  one to be in the master control of the creature, located in the head, one to control the superflious weaponry from within the shell and one to control basic motor movement as well as act as engineer/troubleshooter, located in the middle belly/groin area.

Development has started in the rocket propulsion unit, which is expected to use a form of cold fusion.

We have finally located the complete print to the Korean Monster hit called "A*P*E."    Thought lost in the great Universal fire in 1987, this rare film is being prepared by special Zbu techincians for release in early 2001.   Weeks of thought have been given to this project's return to widescreen format and eventual DVD/VCD release.  "We are very excited" Sharon Weissmuller, Vice President of Zbu Communciations says.  "We know that the Korean Monster market has dried a little, but people will be excited to see this film.  I guarantee you a lot of entertainment."

This adds to Zbu Industries's already huge collection of Cult Sci-Fi, including such films as "Yongary," "Time of the Apes," and "Mighty Jack" as well as many TV series that were also thought lost from many studio's archives.  All of which will see eventual release.

We are proud to announce that the Zbu Industries Team has found many lost models in the enormous vaults of the old Racherr Building where Zbu Industries, many of which were Ed "Big Daddy" Roth originals such as "Thrasher Fink," "Death Before Dishonor," and our personal favorite, the "Fink Eliminator."   "We were proud to locate them," Our faithful CEO has stated, "Because I see Mr. Roth as a visionary for our time.  By mixing our fascination with one of the most enigmatic creations of our time, motor vehicles, and our love for the underdog in the form of monsters, he has provided us with one of the most interesting hybrids of all time.  I truly hope that one day either Revell or our fair company are able to produce these models as toys for our children to play with.  God Bless Big Daddy."
